OFFICER ASHLEY HAARMANN

1986-2021

-

Boulder Colorado Police Officer/Former Houston Police Officer Ashley Haarmann

The community and our family mourn the loss of Officer Ashley Haarmann. Ashley was born on January 4, 1986. After overcoming many life obstacles, she decided to serve the public.

Ashley served proudly as a police officer for the Houston Police Department for 5 years, 2 of which were spent in the Crime Reduction Unit of the Gang Division. Ashley understood the dangers of drugs and had a passion for getting them off the street. Ashley served with the Boulder Police Department after she moved to Colorado in May of 2020 to be near the mountains. She was also working towards a degree in the profession she was so proud of, Criminal Justice.

Ashley lived life on her terms. Her tenacity and joy of life and adventure will always be remembered. She was a very unique and special soul who loved so deeply. Her loss will be felt every day for the rest of our lives.

Ashley loved the outdoors and had an eagle eye for beauty, wildlife and her favorite...a beautiful reflection on a lake. She had just recently taken up off-roading and worked tirelessly to create the perfect vehicle for it - “Bison.”

With heavy hearts, we announce that Ashley died on July 15, 2021 in a terrible accident in the very place she loved so much, the Mountains.

A service full of heartfelt stories of remembrance were shared at a mountain-view and sunset service on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 in Centennial, Colorado.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Ashley with a donation to the Rocky Mountain National Park Conservancy. https://www.gofundme. com/f/help-Ashley-conserveRocky-Mountain-NationalPark We would like to help support the park’s many outdoor activities as well as the rescue team that risked their own safety to search, find and bring Ashley off the mountain.
