Nancy Jane Parks of Houston passed away on December 22, 2020.

She was born in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa on August 9, 1932 and graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College in 1953. Following her graduation, she married Rex G. Parks of Iowa City, Iowa. They settled in Houston and raised two daughters. In 1979, Nancy took a position with the City of Hunter’s Creek Village, was promoted to city secretary and served for 26 years. Following her retirement, she joined The Exchange

Club of Memorial Houston and volunteere­d to assist special needs children. She also served several terms as a Commission­er on the Planning and Zoning Commission for Hunter’s Creek. She was a member of the Common Thread Circle where she sewed heart pillows for cancer and surgical patients confined in the hospital. As an avid reader, Nancy enjoyed her volunteer work at the Spring Branch Memorial and served several terms as a Board

Member of the Friends of the Spring Branch Memorial Library.

A memorial service will now be held on Thursday, August 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Community Church, 1021 Campbell Road, Houston, TX 77055.
