Cleo Mae Adams Robinson 1921-2021

What a beautiful Life! Cleo Mae Adams Robinson passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 in Friendswoo­d, Texas. She recently celebrated her 100th birthday. In her own words, “I have been so blessed!”.

Cleo was born to Grover Cleveland Adams and Bessie Brennaman Adams on May 11,1921 in Houston, Texas. She grew up attending Houston schools and graduating from Jeff Davis High School in 1938. She also attended Houston Business School before meeting and marrying J.D. Robinson in 1939. They celebrated 70 years of marriage on March 1, 2009, before J.D. passed away on April 2009.

Cleo and J.D. had two children Pat(1942) and Wayne(1943). She was a very busy mom providing a wonderful home for her family. Cleo was very involved in all their activities. She was a great mom.

Cleo retired from HISD in 1971, as an attendance clerk at Burbank Jr. High. At that time, she and J.D. moved to their property at Roans Prairie, Texas. In 1984, they sold their 80 acres and relocated to Granite Shoals, Texas on Lake LBJ. Then in 1999, they moved to Alvin, Texas to be closer to their family.

During these years, Cleo and J.D. traveled to Europe, Canada, Panama Canal, and Mexico with family and friends. They made so many road trips and had so much fun.

Cleo came to live at Village on The Park in 2014, she made more friends and participat­ed in many activities. She loved living at the village.

Cleo was young when she gave her life to Christ. She raised her children in the church. She had an enduring Christian faith. She read her Bible every day, she loved studying the world of God. She was a very wonderful example for others. She was a Christian!

Cleo was preceded in death by her husband J.D. in 2009, daughter Pat McClendon (Del Rio, Texas) in November 2020. Her brothers Charles (Nita), G.C. (Jimmie), Lawrence (Katherine), sister-in-law Opal Williams (Russell), niece Dee Bettis and granddaugh­ter in-law Kristi Robinson.

Cleo is survived by son Wayne Robinson and wife Judy of Friendswoo­d, Texas, and son-in-law Tommy McClendon of Del Rio, Texas.

Cleo is the proud grandmothe­r of Brandon Bradley and wife Kris of El Cajon, CA., Jim Robinson and fiancé April Miles of Pearland, Texas, Chris Robinson of

Friendswoo­d, Texas, Jeffrey Robinson and wife Kimber of Spring, Texas, Kerri McClendon of Del Rio, Texas, and Danny McClendon and wife Tricia of Hutto, Texas.

Cleo has 10 great grandchild­ren, Trevor Robinson, and wife Amber and Sydney Robinson of Friendswoo­d, Texas, Sienna Robinson of Spring, Texas, Lauren and Jenny Bradley of El Cajon, CA., Lyric Marburger of Del Rio, Texas, Taylor McClendon of San Antonio, Texas, Justin, Nolan and Tyler McClendon of Hutto, Texas.

Cleo is also survived by five nephews and their families. Charles Stewart Adams, Jerry Adams, Sterling Adams, Sonny Williams and Dan Bettis.

Our family would like to thank everyone at Village on the Park for giving Cleo a happy home. She wanted to continue being independen­t and living on her own. God bless Marilyn Swaboda for the extra loving capable care that she provided for Cleo.

Visitation will be at 9:30am-10:15am on Friday, August 20, 2021 at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas, 77039. Services will be at 10:30am following visitation and 11:30am internment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park. Officiatin­g will be Chad Bertrand from South Park Baptist Church in Alvin.
