JIMMIE DALE WILLIAMS
1937-2021
Jimmie Dale Williams, a life-long resident of the Houston area, passed away peacefully at his home on August 9, 2021 at the age of 84. Jimmie is survived by his daughter Terri Jones, step-daughters Tamara Cryar and Tasha Steiner, sonsin-law Ray Jones, Alfonso Ramirez, and Scott Steiner, and grandchildren Elias
Roe, Lena Roe, and Vincent Steiner. He is predeceased by his wife Kay Cryar-Williams, parents Leo Edwin Williams and Dee Robertson Williams, grandson Randy Carter, and beloved dog Taco.
Jimmie was born on May 23, 1937. He graduated from Jeff Davis High School and immediately began his career at Humble Oil (later ExxonMobil). A loyal employee, Jimmie served as a cherished mentor, manager, and friend for 36 years.
Jimmie’s devotion as a husband, father, and step-father was unparalleled. When he saw a need, he took action, whether serving on community boards or creating a girls’ softball league from the ground up. He loved softball, coaching, and tales of Alaska. His one-of-a-kind knack for storytelling created the kind of laughter that will echo in the minds of those who loved him for years to come.
We will suffer his loss greatly, but in his memory find comfort in the simple joys of life that are iced tea, cookies, and an occasional game of video poker.
A proud supporter of our American Military, Jimmie never missed an opportunity to honor our servicemen. As a young man, he was a member of the National Guard Reserve.
