MARIANNE E. RICHARDSON

1941-2021

Marianne E. Richardson, passed away peacefully on

July 28, 2021 after a short battle with tonsillar cancer. Marianne was born February 20, 1941 in Stockholm, Sweden to Erik and Ethel Lindback.

Marianne came to the United States from Sweden when she was only 16, with a family for whom she nannied. Soon after, she became a naturalized citizen and started a career as a flight attendant for National Airlines. She spoke several languages which helped her move up the ranks and became a supervisor of flight attendants. In 1975, she met her future husband, Billy Dean Richardson on a flight to London. Her regular flights were between Houston, London and Paris, she had a weekly standing hair appointment in Paris for many years!

Marianne and Bill had 25 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2001. She was a member of Tallowood Baptist Church and volunteered with Cancer Fighters of Houston. She had a passion for traveling, cooking, collecting crystal and china and gymnastics.

Since all of her family remained in Sweden, her step-daughter and nieces in Houston became her immediate family and cared for her during the last few years of her life.

Marianne was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents and brother Kjell Lindback.

She is survived by her stepdaughter, Mary Richardson Lesmeister (Barry) of North Dakota, sister Chris Lindback Thidlund of Sweden and brother-in-law, Wayne Richardson (Myrna) of Arkansas, nieces Cindy Richardson

Giles (Mike), Linda Richardson Jones (Frank), Sheila Richardson Jones, (Randy), Tammy Richardson Glass (Joe) along with many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

A casual Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 28th at her niece’s home, during the hours of 3 – 5pm. For additional information call Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home 281-4972330.
