Dorothy Jane Barton Newby, 89, of Houston, passed away on August 12, 2021, in Fort Worth where she was living with her daughter.

A private burial service will be held.

Dorothy was born to Zella and Everett Barton on July 23, 1932. She was a graduate of Reagan High School in the Heights. She married Bobby Newby in 1974. Dorothy was a successful businesswoman who rose to senior administrative positions with several companies. She was active in many civic organizations. More importantly she was a lifelong friend to many. If success is measured in friendships and lives affected: Her life shone.

Dorothy Newby was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Newby and her son, Reed Hebert. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Rene’ Beauchamp and her husband Robert Beauchamp, grandsons James and Jeff Beauchamp, stepdaughter Patti Newby, and stepson Clovis Newby and his family.

Family requests no flowers. Memorials should be sent to the American Heart Association or the Kerrville Eastern Star Chapter #24.
