LINDA JEAN (CLARK) SHERMAN

-

Linda Jean (Clark) Sherman came to Duluth, Minnesota as a Long Beach, California girl via Texas. She always loved the views of

Lake Superior from Hawk Ridge, and adored the songs of black capped chickadees. Linda passed away at Solvay Hospice House on August 9, 2021.

Linda worked for many years as a legal secretary at the largest law firm in Houston, Texas. She moved to Minnesota with her family in 1997.

Her passion was always music. With a superb alto voice and talent for playing the harp, she made the lives of many Minnesotans better when she volunteered as a Certified Music Practitioner at Solvay beginning in 2008. Her laugh was endearing, especially when her lovely blue eyes joined in.

Her former husband Bob remembers the challenges of raising two kids full time (Jeremy Ryan Sherman and Alec Clark Sherman) and three part time (Robert Taylor Sherman III, Kathleen Malloy Hays, Leigh Michele Contreras). “Linda was the embodiment of unconditional love in our family. She learned that from her mother and shared it with everyone.”

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at 11 am CDT on September 25, 2021 at First United Methodist Church in Duluth where she had been a member for many years. The service will also be livestreamed by the church at https://youtu.be/jGgxioCQykA

Linda was preceded in passing by her mother Peggy Jean Clark Carr and father Robert Alan Clark. She is survived by her sons Alec and Jeremy, sister Laurie Ann McGinnis and nieces Megan Michelle Herzing and Kelsey Kathleen McGinnis.

To honor Linda, remember to love your family members unconditionally. Listen to good music and smile. In place of flowers, please consider a donation to Solvay Hospice House (solvayhospicehouse.org) in Linda’s memory. You are always welcome to post good memories on social media.
