Alvin Music Festival set for Sept. 10-12

For almost 10 years, people from all over Brazoria County and surroundin­g areas have gathered to experience a weekend of family fun with good music and an IBCA-sanctioned cook-off.

Proceeds go to funding scholarshi­ps for area students, high school and college, and supporting organizati­ons that provide food, shelter and other services to the Alvin area.

This year, Sept. 10-12, the live music lineup includes:

• Friday: The Fab 5 at 6 p.m., Bay of Donuts at 8 p.m., and Spazmatics at 10 p.m.

• Saturday: Koby Rowton 2:30 p.m., Bryan Shayne Band 4:30 p.m., Nick and The Groove 8 p.m., Josh Abbott Band 10 p.m.

• Sunday: Gates open at noon. Bino G at 12 p.m., South TX Homies at 2:30 p.m., and for the new Tejano Day, Duelo takes the stage at 4:30 p.m.

Admission price is $15 on Friday, $20 on Saturday, and $15 on Sunday. Kids (ages 5-12) $5 (all activities included).
