JOSEPH SALVINE FIORE
1943-2021
Joseph Salvine Fiore, was born in Pennsylvania on February 3, 1943 to Salvine and Julia Fiore. He is the youngest brother of H.C. Fiore and Margaret Fiore, and known to his family and friends as “Joe”.
With a BA in Mathematics and Philosophy from
Kings College, a Master’s in Mathematics from Lehigh University, and a PhD in Mathematics from University of Houston, his move to Texas is how he found his wife Linda, who he married on March 22, 1969. In spite of all of his accomplishments, he would nevertheless tell you that his greatest pride in life came from his children and his grandchildren. Over the years, Joe found that the purest joy came from having a close relationship with Christ. To that end, he spent his time immersing himself in the study of his faith and devoured everything from scriptures, theologians, saints, and the Church’s teachings to understand as much as he could about the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. While those things satisfied him intellectually, he leaned on his Community to help him experience the reality of Christ in others. Walking in faith with his brothers and sisters in Christ, he found himself in the throes of frustration, while managing to frustrate plenty of people himself. In time, however, he found the unconditional love of the Father in those around him and discovered the joy of being able to give that love in return.
After enduring years of pain with grace and prayer, Joe went to rest with the Lord on August 31, 2021. He is survived by his wife Linda, his brother Charlie and his sister Margaret; his children Michael, Margaret, Matthew, Michelle, Maria, and Mark; his grandchildren Gabriela, Sebastian, Belen, Agnes, Joseph, Patrick, Zachary, William,
Julia, Damian, David, Salvine, Magdalena, Clement, Annette, Miriam, Ellis, Felicity, Sophia, Lucia, Lily, Aidan, Adel, Titan, Andrew, Eva, Elias, Peter, Isabel; his brothers and sisters in the Community; and more friends than could ever be listed.
