Body wrapped in trash bags sets off police probe

Homicide detectives are investigat­ing the suspicious death of a person whose body was found wrapped in trash bags in southwest Houston on Saturday.

A bystander discovered the body near the intersecti­on of West Airport Boulevard and Sandpiper

Drive and alerted police at 10:50 a.m., said HPD spokesman Kese Smith.

Officers found the decomposin­g body of an unidentifi­ed individual in a “large set of black trash bags,” Smith said. Eyewitness­es told police the bag-wrapped body had appeared around 8:15 a.m Saturday.

Police have not identified the victim’s age or gender.
