Man charged in club shooting that left 1 dead, 1 hurt
An 18-year-old man is accused of fatally shooting a woman and wounding a man Saturday morning when he opened fire at an after-hours nightclub in Houston, police said.
The male suspect, who police have not named, is facing charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, police said. The suspect retrieved a firearm from a vehicle and then a physical altercation occurred in the club, which is also a hookah lounge, said Houston Police spokesman Kese Smith.
A 21-year-old woman was dead when police arrived at about 6 a.m. in the 9500 block of Richmond Avenue near Tanglewilde. The man was shot in the arm. Paramedics took him to the hospital and he was later released, Smith said.
