RAYMOND GERARD BORSKI

1953-2021

-

Raymond Gerard Borski, 68, of Spring, TX passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on September 3rd, 2021, after a courageous 10-month battle with neuroendocrine cancer. He is survived by his spouse of 46 years, Sara (Hoffart) Borski, daughters Rachel and Laura Borski and granddogs Tank and Chester. He is also survived by his six siblings, Michael Borski, Francis and husband Larry Strelau, Diane and husband William Harrell, Bernard and wife Debbie Borski, Geraldine and husband Fred McClosky, Mark and wife Terry Borski and a copious amount of nieces, nephews, and grandnephews/nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Clara Borski, his parent-in-laws, John and Mary Louise Hoffart and a countless number of other loving relatives and friends.

Raymond was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, drummer and Santa Claus. He was a 49 year Knight of Columbus 3rd degree member of council no. 2917 in Houston, TX, a softball coach to his daughters, a mentor, a golfer, a fisherman, a hunter, and an extraordinary drummer (rock-n-roll, country and western, Polka, Polish music). He graduated from St. Pius X high school, class of 1971. Raymond was a short-order cook in his younger years, earning enough money for his first set of drums, a machinist by trade at the American Can Company, Alfa-Laval, and CSI, where he was later promoted to a management position. After buying out CSI, he eventually moved the shop from La Porte, TX to Houston, TX and changed the company to Centrifuge Services Industries, LLC. He was able to enjoy his retirement time for a couple of years. He enjoyed attending church bazaars, weddings and any family/ friends gathering. He especially loved hosting, cooking and entertaining a host of guests. He was a jokester, a spokesperson, he loved being social and talking until he was told to stop or get kicked out. At any event, he was consistently the last one to leave. He always put his family first, no matter what. His absolute #1 passion in life was music. He loved nothing more than playing the drums. For Father’s day this year he asked for a lightweight set of Ludwig’s to tote around now that he had lost some muscle and strength. He got what he asked for and he was able to fullfill his bucket list dream of a Country Sundowners reunion at his brother, Mike’s property in Bedias, TX for his annual 4th of July BBQ . It was one for the books and we are all so happy he was able to attend and play his new set of drums. The “Original” Country Sundowners was the infamous band him and his brothers, Mark and Bernard, brother-in-law William Harrell and cousin Kevin Borski started and they played for 25 years.

Raymond practiced Catholic faith his entire life. He was able to receive the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick on August 19, 2021, which was his second day in the hospital and a special thank you to Father Christian Bui of St. Edward’s Catholic Church for that visit. We are honoring his wishes of a visitation with a rosary, a burial ceremony then a catered reception to follow. We will continue his Celebration of Life at his favorite Ice House, Track Shack in Spring, TX, and hope you can join! We would like to thank all of the hospital staff at Memorial Hermann-The Woodlands, along with his oncology team at Millennium Physicians for providing Raymond with the upmost comfort and care. An extra special thank you to his cardiologist, Dr. Agan, and Vinny and Mario with Gaspy Home Health Care. We are honored to have his brothers (Michael, Bernard, and Mark Borski) and godsons (David and Christopher Borski and Daryl Winkler) as his pallbearers. We love you, miss you and you will forever be in our hearts!

A visitation for Raymond will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A rosary beginning at 7:00PM. Funeral service will occur Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A committal service to follow. The family would like to invite family and friends to gather after the burial for a reception.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.earthmanresthavenfuneralhome.com for the Borski family.
