After 2016 snub, UH finally joins Big 12
The University of Houston took a “historic step” that fulfills a decadeslong pursuit to join the top-tier of major college athletics when it accepted an invitation to join the Big 12 on Friday. The addition of Houston, BYU, Cincinnati and Central Florida will increase the size of the Big 12 to 14 teams until Texas and OU leave for the SEC in 2025.
