WHEN THE TEXANS PASS
After a slow start on his first possession, Tyrod Taylor had an exceptional debut with the Texans, throwing for 291 yards and two touchdowns against Jacksonville. He didn’t commit a turnover, and his ball protection might have been his most impressive accomplishment. He was sacked once. He used his mobility to get away from the rush and throw well on the run. Expect the Browns to devote a lot of attention to Brandin Cooks after he caught five passes for 132 yards, including spectacular receptions for 40 and 52 yards. They’d be foolish not to double him with a safety helping a corner. One of the best matchups will be Cooks against cornerback Denzel Ward. Danny Amendola had five catches, including a touchdown, with less than week of practice. Tight end Pharaoh Brown missed two days of practice after an impressive performance against the Jaguars, including a one-handed catch for a 29-yard gain. Tackles Laremy Tunsil and Marcus Cannon have to be at their best to handle defensive ends Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney off the edges.
