Julie Young, daughter of Camille Jackson and Billy R. Jackson, was born on the 5th of March, 1956, and passed away on Wednesday, the 22nd of September 2021. She was 65 years pf age.

Julie was born and raised in Houston, and after graduating from Robert E. Lee high school in 1974, Julie went on to open Julie’s Deli, a famously successful local lunch spot. It was at the deli that she met Rolfe, with whom she shared a remarkable 39 years of marriage.

She loved jetting off on great European adventures with her husband making friends everywhere they went. When she was back home she could be found planning activities for her grandchild­ren, volunteeri­ng at Meadow Wood Elementary School, or entertaini­ng people at the Redwood, her favorite watering hole.

Julie was preceded in death by her father; and her maternal grandmothe­r, Dorothy Ramsey. She is survived by her husband, Rolfe Young; her children, Erika Sorsby and her husband Kyle, Robert Young and his wife Ruvva; grandchild­ren, Wyatt and Walker Sorsby; her mother, Camille; and sisters, Leslie Rollo and Tracy Daniel.

Friends are cordially invited to a memorial service and celebratio­n of her life at to be held on Wednesday, the 29th of September, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston, where the Rev. Trey Little is to officiate.

Immediatel­y following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent grand foyer.

In lieu of customary remembranc­es, her family requests with gratitude that memorial contributi­ons in her name be directed to the charity of one’s choice.

Julie was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmothe­r, and will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her.
