Trooper arrested on suspicion of child sex crimes

A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper has been arrested in connection with several sex crimes against children, the department confirmed.

Fredis Rivas, 34, was arrested in Comal County last week on suspicion of possession of child pornography and indecency with a child.

Rivas, who had been with the department since 2013 and was assigned to the Luling area, has been served a notice of the department’s preliminary decision to terminate his employment.
