ROBERT STILES LOWERY

-

Robert ”Bob” Stiles Lowery passed away recently while in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He was 46 years old.

Born in 1975 to Carol Brinegar and John (Andy) Lowery, he was named for his great grandparents R. L. Thornton, Sr. and Metta Stiles Thornton of Dallas. Bob’s earliest years were spent in St. Louis, Missouri. At age 10, he moved with his family to Houston, where he lived most of his life. He was the oldest of three children and a wonderful big brother to his two sisters. He had particularly fond memories of his years at Memorial High School. He had a large circle of friends with whom he had a special bond. He then attended Texas Tech University, where once again he developed meaningful friendships through his school and Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Bob was a personable, fun-loving boy and man, with a beautiful smile and the biggest heart.

Known professionally as Robert, he worked in Houston’s commercial real estate industry and related businesses for more than twenty years. The last four years he served as business development executive for O’Connor & Associates where he was highly valued by his colleagues for his enthusiasm, work ethic and professionalism.

Bob was grounded in his faith. Our family finds comfort knowing his beautiful soul is with his loving God and he is at peace.

Most of all, Bob will be remembered for his love and devotion to his two children. He would light up with pride whenever he spoke of Luke and Meredith. He was a playful companion, while always guiding their growth with care. He enjoyed every moment they had together, whether an afternoon shopping with Meredith or a competitive tennis match with Luke. He took extraordinary joy planning wonderful adventures they shared together, with special memories of Disney World, skiing, fishing, dude ranches and much more. He really was the best dad.

Bob is survived by his two children, Luke and Meredith Lowery, and former wife Christelle Martini of Pearland; parents Carol and Vin Hoey of Dallas and Teresa and Andy Lowery of Houston; sisters Leigh Lowery, Anne Lowery and husband Luke Wade of Los Angeles, CA; stepsisters Elizabeth Barham and husband Michael of Bluffton, OH, and Melanie Hoey and partner Chrissta Hinze of Springfield, MO; aunts Mary Brinegar of Dallas, Nan Matson and husband Mark of Fort Worth, Mimi Bogdasarian and husband Ron of Ann Arbor, MI, uncles Frank Brinegar and wife Christina of Coppell, and Jan Hoey and wife Barbara of Newton, MA. Bob is also survived by wonderful cousins and extended family with whom he shared many holidays and celebrations throughout the years. He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents Rosemary and Ralph Brinegar, Caroline and John Lowery, and his aunt Lynn Unkefer.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 29 at Second Baptist Church, 6400 Woodway, Houston TX 77057. It will be live streamed at www. second.org/liveevents. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the “Remembering Bob Lowery: Children’s Education Fund” at GoFundMe.com; or Bo’s Place, a bereavement center located at 10050 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, TX 77054.
