Suzanne Baker Stone, born December 13, 1943, died in Houston on October 18, 2021. Suzanne was born and grew up in Houston. She attended Wilson Elementary and Lanier Junior High, and graduated from Lamar High School in 1962. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1966; she later received a Master’s in Education as well as a degree in math from Houston Baptist.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Beth Baker Love and Edwin Baker, her stepfather Alan Love, and her son Thomas Alan Stone. She is survived by her daughter Maribeth Christian Stone, her grandson and light of her life Thomas Owen Stone, the entire Hudgins family, and by her close childhood friend Toey Doucette.

Suzanne was a highly respected longtime math teacher at Hastings High School in the Alief School District. She had a wide circle of lifelong friends who will miss her wit and laughter at bridge games, mah jong, the Lamar Birthday Club, and gambling junkets to nearby states.

A memorial service to celebrate Suzanne’s life will be held at the Bradshaw-Carter Funeral Home, 1734 West Alabama, in Houston on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from ten until half past twelve with the service starting at eleven o’clock in the morning. In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons may be made to the Texas Children’s Hospital Cardiac Unit, 6621 Fannin, Houston, TX 77030, for the amazing sucessful care that Suzanne’s grandson received, or to the charity of one’s choice.
