Daniel R. Kirshbaum, 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Houston, TX on October 22, 2021. He was born May 5, 1943 in Lindsborg, KS to the late Joseph and Gertrude Kirshbaum and grew up in Tyler, TX.

Dan was a unique and strong-willed individual, marching to his own drumbeat, and always trying to make people smile. He loved Texas, the springtime bluebonnet­s, and hole-in-the-wall barbecue joints.

Dan graduated from UT Austin and went on to earn his J.D., leading to a 50+year career as a securities and business law attorney.

He was a member of the Houston and Texas Bar Associatio­ns and a certified arbitrator for the New York Stock Exchange and the National Associatio­n of Securities Dealers.

Dan was an active member of Congregati­on Beth Israel and served on the Social Action Committee.

He grew up surrounded by music, playing viola in the East Texas Symphony Orchestra, headed by his father, as well as their family string quartet. He loved his hometown of Tyler, his adopted Houston community, and all his friends in both places.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his amazing and devoted wife Glenda, son Geoffrey and wife Christi, son David, and daughter Lauren and husband Ben, grandchild­ren Chloe, Henry, Josh, Hazel, and Zev, as well as siblings, cousins, and friends far and wide.

A memorial service will be held at Congregati­on Beth Israel on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, 11AM CST. 5600 N Braeswood Blvd, Houston, TX 77096. The service will be livestream­ed. Memorial donations may be made to Interfaith Ministries or SEARCH.
