DOMING BARELAS (MINNIE) LICEA

Doming Barelas (Minnie) Licea, 86 was born in Simonton, Texas - Fort Bend County and went home to be with the Lord o Friday, May 15, 2021. She lived in Houston since 1946 and was a graduate of Jefferson Davis High School. She was a member of the band and of the Jefferson Davis Carlton Cadets in which she played the trumpet. She was married to Peter C. Licea whom preceded her death in March, 1977.

She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Ann Licea and husband, Michael and grandson, Michael Alexander and daugher, Mary Ann Licea, daughter-in-law Beatrice M. Licea and granddaugh­ter, Hannah.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sirilo and Josefa E. Barelas, her son Peter Michael. Also her brothers, Marcos M. Barelas, Manuel Barelas, Jose Cruz Barelas and sister, Frances B. Bueno and husband, Cirilo and brother-in-law, Peter Faust

She is survived by her sisters Tomasa and Guadalupe Flores, Lucy Faust and Dolores and Shahrokh

Shahroodi and sisters-in-law Esperanza, Mary Lou and Hortencia and numerous nieces and nephews to the 6th generation.

A dynamic individual filled with deep faith in GOD, she championed the cause for faith and family. She tirelessly advocated for youth, family and community outreach. She was very involved with community service. Minnie was a member of ACCW - Archdiosce­an Council of Catholic Women and had served in many capacities. We will miss her terrific smile, both warm and stern and and her terrific recollecti­ons of family history.

A visitation will be held o Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 6 - 8 PM at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, 4525 Bissonet in Bellaire. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6:30 PM, followed by the vigil prayer service.

A mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, October 29, 2021 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church , 8200 Roos Road in Houston, Texas. Interment will be at Forest Park Lawndale.
