Supreme Court to hear abortion case
The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday agreed to hear arguments in the fight over Texas’ law that bans abortions after about six weeks, setting up a showdown on Nov. 1 over lawsuits challenging the new restrictions.
The justices declined to take up the constitutionality of the law but said they will consider whether federal courts can block its enforcement.
In the meantime, the abortion law, which took effect Sept. 1, remains enforceable.
