TSU’s Body accounts for 5 TDs in blowout

Andrew Body threw four touchdown passes and ran for a fifth score, leading Texas Southern to a 59-17 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Body threw four touchdown passes before halftime as the Tigers (2-5, 2-3 SWAC) took a 28-3 lead at the break.

Body completed 16 of 25 passes for 271 yards. He carried 16 times for 121 rushing yards.

Eric Schmid threw five touchdown passes to lead the FCS top-ranked Bearkats to a win at Stephenvil­le.

It was the 18th-straight win for Sam Houston (7-0, 5-0 ASUNWester­n Athletic Conference) dating to the 2019 season, the longest current streak in Division I. The Bearkats have also won a record 17 games in the 2021 calendar year, surpassing Yale

(1894, 1889), Chicago (1899), and North Dakota State (2019).

Schmid was 25-of-37 passing for 298 yards, with three touchdown passes going to Ife Adeyi and one each to Noah Smith and Chandler Harvin.

The Bobcats were shut out for the first time in 19 years in a loss at Lafayette, La.

Texas State (2-6, 1-3 Sun Belt) was limited to 220 yards and lost a pair of fumbles.

Cameron Ward threw four touchdown passes, including three in the first half, and Marcus Cooper ran for two more scores as the Cardinals cruised past the winless Huskies at San Antonio.

Ward completed 34 of 46 passes for 328 yards and Cooper carried 18 times for 104 yards.

Lamar (1-6, 0-4 ASUN-Western Athletic Conference) managed just 77 yards passing and ran for 116 on 41 carries.

Trae Self threw for 346 yards and a career-high five touchdowns to lead the Lumberjack­s to a win at Nacogdoche­s.

Self had a pair of touchdown passes as the Lumberjack­s (5-3, 1-2 ASun-WAC) scored lead 20-6

at the half.

FLORIDA ATLANTIC 28, UTEP 25

N’Kosi Perry passed for 150 yards and a touchdown and Johnny Ford ran for 94 yards and a touchdown as the Owls held off the Miners at Boca Raton, Fla.

Gavin Harrison threw for 339 and two touchdowns for the Miners (6-2).
