ZULEMA DÁVILA, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on All Saints Day, November 1, 2021. She was born December 9, 1935 in El Alamo Vallecillo NL, Mexico to Juan and Francisca Cavazos. She married the love of her life, Daniel Dávila, on July 6, 1952 in Monterrey, NL, Mexico and together they had five children. She happily lived out her vocation as a loyal wife, exceptiona­l mother, faithful servant of God and active community volunteer. As immigrants that truly valued education, she and her husband inspired their children to graduate from the UH, Harvard, Texas A&M, UH Law School and UT School of Law.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 55 years and her beloved son Jaime Dávila. She is survived by her sister Emma Cavazos de Buentello; her children: Daniel Dávila, Jr. (Zina), Maricela Dávila-Salinas (Liborio), Sergio Dávila (Tiffany) and Former State Representa­tive Diana Dávila Martínez (Román); her grandchild­ren: Laura Salinas-Pruneda (Jose), Liborio Salinas, Jr. (Esmeralda), Daniel Dávila, III (Allison), Nancy Huerta (Noe), Jaime Salinas (Rocio), Natalie Dávila, Diego Martínez, Gabriela Dávila, Victoria Dávila, Andrés Martínez, J. Dominic Dávila; and great grandchild­ren: Jimmy Salinas, Mia Salinas, Lia Salinas, Eduardo Pruneda, Ruby Dávila, Camila Huerta, Mateo Huerta, Lucy Dávila, Andrea Huerta and arriving soon Jaime Salinas, Jr.

Visitation will take place Sunday, November 7th at Felix H. Morales Funeral Home from 5-8 pm with a Rosary at 6 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 8th, 1 pm at Blessed Sacrament Church, 4015 Sherman. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale.
