Terri Ann Garvey was born on August 8, 1954, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and passed away on December 21, 2021 in Houston, Texas. Terri Ann grew up in New Albany, Indiana, where she graduated from high school in 1972 and was an avid swimmer and tennis player. As a teenager, Terri Ann won the Indiana State Fair pastry baking contest, and was a finalist in the Miss Teen Indiana pageant. Beginning when she was 18 years old, Terri Ann developed a love to travel whenever possible, visiting on multiple occasions over the years all of the continents, except Antarctica.

After graduating from the University of Indiana, Terri Ann began a 30-year career in sales and marketing with Fortune 500 companies, including Valvoline (Ashland Oil), Pillsbury, and Texaco, where she rose up the ranks from district sales representa­tive, to district sales manager, to director of advertisin­g and marketing. Over the course of her corporate career, Terri Ann was stationed first in Indianapol­is, then Cincinnati, San Francisco, Minneapoli­s, and finally in 1989, in Houston with Texaco. She introduced innovation­s in advertisin­g and marketing, including accurate measuremen­t of the effectiven­ess of sales promotions and the use of locally-focused movie-theater advertisin­g and “cut-out” advertisin­g for the discount store sales of motor oil.

Terri Ann was married in 2001 and gave birth to two boys in 2002 and 2003. In 2005, Terri Ann bought Sew Contempo in Clear Lake City, a major southeast Texas dealership for Bernina, Brother and Viking sewing machines.

Terri Ann continued to operate Sew Contempo until it was sold in 2015.

Terri Ann is survived by her husband, Frank Perrone, two sons, Andrew and Evan, two step-daughters, Lee Perrone Cantos and Lauren Perrone, an older brother, Michael Garvey, and a younger sister, Christine Touchton.

Terri Ann’s calm, positive and caring nature attracted everyone that met her. Her passing brings a deep sadness to her family and friends. She will be forever remembered, loved and missed

A visitation with family & friends for Terri Ann will be held Friday, January 14, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079. A Celebratio­n of Terri Ann’s Life will take place on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
