Betty Kyle Moore, beloved mother, grandmothe­r and friend, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Monday, the 3rd of January 2022, after a brave battle with cancer. She was born on the 30th of November 1937, in Waco, Texas, the daughter of Kyle McKinney and Jack Walker.

Betty Kyle is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 56 years Preston, daughter Kyle, son John and brother Dr. Jack Walker.

She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Moore Elder and her husband John, her son Preston Moore III and his wife Cheryl, grandson Preston Moore IV and his wife Bethany, and granddaugh­ters Kathryn Hess Moore and Kristen Palmer Moore.

Betty Kyle graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas where she became a passionate Longhorn. She was an entreprene­ur, opening her floral and gift shop RVG with her good friends. Betty Kyle later became a real estate agent for over 25 years at Greenwood King. In addition, she loved gardening and working at the GCH annual bulb mart. Betty Kyle, an avid bridge player, loved organizing bridge games and traveling the country playing with her friends. A dedicated runner, she ran marathons including the New York and Honolulu marathons. One of her greatest adventures involved climbing Mt. Kilimanjar­o with good friend Frances Baxter to celebrate her 60th birthday. She was an enthusiast­ic political and charitable fundraiser. Betty Kyle joined St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in 1997 and enjoyed serving in Altar Guild there. Faith, family, and friends was her motto.

Club of Houston, (Past President), Jr. League of Houston, Pi Beta Phi, Bolero, the

Bayou Club and the Houston Country Club.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kelty Baker, Marjorie Romero, Maria Casas, Maria Perdomo and Ruth Bustos and the nurses at UltraStaff.

A memorial service is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 13th of January, in the sanctuary of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road, Houston, TX 77057, where The Rev. Dr. Russell J. Levenson, Jr., Rector, is to officiate.

Prior to the service, the family will have gathered for a private interment at Glenwood Cemetery in Houston.

In lieu of customary remembranc­es, the family requests that memorial contributi­ons be directed to Kid’s Meals, 330 Garden Oaks Blvd, Houston, TX 77018; Gus Wortham Park Golf Course, 7000 Capitol
