Foyt, Sr. They married on September 5, 1948 and went on to have four children. Joe was a machinist by trade and together, him and Marie, began their business, Foyt & Co., in their garage in 1954. For the next 50+ years, she served as the bookkeeper/secretary and did her part to keep the company going.

Marie was an active member of St. Jerome Catholic Church. She was involved in many aspects of service such as their Fall Festival as well as being an active member of the Altar Society into her 90’s. She was a member of the KJZT #32, Catholic Daughter’s, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Marie organized and coordinated the USS Hinsdale ship reunions, which is the ship her husband, Joe, served on during WWII. She and Joe attended these reunions for many years where she also served as

secretary/treasurer. She was even awarded the USS Hinsdale Honorary Yeoman First Class. She also loved the Houston Astros.

Marie was loved by many and will truly be missed by many. Until we meet again, fly high sweet angel.
