Oklahoma State stuns No. 1 Baylor

WACO — Bryce Thompson scored the game’s final six points and finished with 19 as Oklahoma State beat No. 1 Baylor 61-54 on Saturday, giving the Bears consecutiv­e home losses for the first time in nearly six years.

The only time Oklahoma State (9-7, 2-3) trailed was after Kendall Brown’s basket that made it 4-3 only 2½ minutes into the game. The Bears then missed 10 shots in a row before LJ Cryer’s 3-pointer from the top of the key.

NORTHWESTE­RN 64 NO. 10 MICHIGAN ST. 62

Ryan Young had 18 points and eight rebounds to help the visiting Wildcats hold off the Spartans.

Northweste­rn (9-6, 2-4 Big Ten) won after Michigan State’s Malik Hall missed a 3-pointer with 4 seconds left and Marcus Bingham missed the front end of a one-and-one. The Spartans (14-3, 5-1) had won nine straight.

Gabe Kalscheur scored 22 points, including six 3-pointers, as the Cyclones defeated the Longhorns at Ames, Iowa.

Kalscheur’s long-range shooting helped the Cyclones (14-3, 2-3 Big 12) hold off Texas (13-4, 3-2).

Zach Scott scored 24 points, including the gamewinnin­g 3-pointer as time expired, to lead the host Cowboys past the Huskies.

Darius Lee led HBU (4-10, 0-1 SLC) with 18 points.

Justin Thomas scored 26 points and the Braves held on after nearly squanderin­g an 18-point lead in a win over the visiting Tigers.

Carl Pierre scored 30 points and Travis Evee added 22 as the Owls won at Huntington, W.Va.
