Arizona beats UCLA to clinch Pac-12 title

LAS VEGAS — Bennedict Mathurin scored 27 points and No. 2 Arizona used a massive second-half run to beat No. 13 UCLA 84-76 on Saturday night, winning the Pac-12 Tournament in coach Tommy Lloyd’s first season.

Jules Bernard scored 19 points and Jaime Jaquez Jr. 18 to lead the Bruins.

In New York, Hunter Cattoor scored a careerhigh 31 points and seventhsee­ded Virginia Tech beat Duke 82-67 to deny Mike Krzyzewski a league title in his final season.

In Indianapol­is, Jordan Bohannon banked in a 3-pointer with 0.8 seconds left, lifting No. 24 Iowa over ninth-seeded Indiana 80-77 in the semifinals. The Hawkeyes will face Purdue, which beat Michigan State 75-70, for the championsh­ip.

AMERICA EAST

In Burlington, Vt., Ryan Davis scored 20 points, Ben Shungu added 19 and Vermont routed MarylandBa­ltimore County, 82-43.

ATLANTIC 10

In Washington, Foster Loyer had 21 points as Davidson defeated Saint Louis 84-69 in a semifinal. The Wildcats will face Richmond, a 68-64 winner over Dayton, for the championsh­ip.

In New York, Collin Gillespie buried consecutiv­e 3-pointers late in the game that put No. 8 Villanova ahead for good to beat Creighton, 54-48, for the championsh­ip.

In Boise, Idaho, Xavier Bishop scored 19 points to help Montana State advance to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 26 years in an 87-66 rout of Northern Colorado.

In Henderson, Nev., forward E.J. Anosike scored

22 points to lead Cal StateFulle­rton past Long Beach State, 72-71, in the title game.

In Frisco, Jordan “Jelly” Walker made 11 of 11 from the free-throw line and finished with 27 points to help UAB beat Louisiana Tech, 82-73, for the title.

In Boston, Azar Swain had 25 points as Yale topped Penn 67-61 in a semifinal. The Bulldogs will face Princeton, which beat Cornell 77-73, for the championsh­ip.

In Atlantic City, N.J., junior guard Doug Edert scored a game-high 20 points as Saint Peter’s beat Monmouth 60-54 to clinch its first NCAA Tournament berth since 2011.

In Cleveland, Enrique Freeman scored a gamehigh 23 points as Akron beat Kent State 75-55 for the championsh­ip.

In Norfolk, Va., Conference player of the year Joe Bryant Jr. scored 23 points, and top-seeded Norfolk State beat Coppin State 72-57 to win the championsh­ip.

MOUNTAIN WEST

In Las Vegas, Tyson Degenhart scored 13 points and Boise State defeated San Diego State 53-52 to earn the conference’s automatic berth.

SOUTHLAND

Terrion Murdix and Jalen Jackson each had 13 points and five assists, and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 15 years with a 73-65 victory over Southeaste­rn Louisiana.

In Las Vegas, Clayton Henry had 15 points and eight rebounds to help New Mexico State beat Abilene Christian 66-52 in the championsh­ip game.
