EDWARD LIVINGSTON BULLOCK IV

-

Ed passed away unexpectedly, but quickly, on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at home with his wife by his side.

Ed was born in San Antonio, Texas on November 2, 1948 (73 years old). He attended Robert E. Lee HS and graduated from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas in 1971.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Ed Bullock III.

Ed is survived by his wife of 28 years, Bridgett Lowry Bullock; his stepson, Adam Lowry and wife Jamie Gruchala Lowry; his grandchildren Richard Joseph Lowry and George Edward Lowry; his sisters, Pamela Guzman of Houston, Texas, Penny Tettleton of San Antonio, Texas; his nieces and nephews, Carina Guzman of Montreal, Canada, Lyra Guzman of Houston, Texas, Bijou Guzman, Romina Guzman, Liam Guzman, Chase Tettleton of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and his great nephews, Riley Tettleton and Reid Tettleton

Ed never met a stranger and was a gracious listener, sometimes a mentor, and a trusted confidante. He loved the Astros, saltwater fishing, sailing, live music, and exploring from Brownsville to Louisiana. Tootling as he would say. He was devoted to volunteering in activities benefiting education and children, such as the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for 30+ years, Hold ‘em and Hit ‘em Club for 15+ years. Rodeo cookoff sponsor (Renegades) for 9 years and the Houston Marathon.

His friend and constant favorite blues musician was Carolyn Wonderland of Austin, Texas, whom he followed all the way to Amsterdam. Attending the “Indy 500” with his father when possible, and later numerous friends and son, was an important event. Lately, some of his favorite moments were tickling and playing with his two grandsons, Richard and George. Meeting with “The Elders” was also a very cherished time (and you know who you are).

Ed was known for his “long goodbyes” having such a good time that he didn’t want it to end.

Ed is loved and will be missed by countless friends and family.

A memorial will be held at a later date.
