BRETT ERWIN HESSER

2022

-

Brett Erwin Hesser, of Magnolia, Texas, left his earthly home for his heavenly dwelling when he passed away suddenly on January

22, 2022. He was born in Wichita, Kansas to Elodee (Erwin) and V.E. (Red) Hesser. He attended Wichita public schools and Wichita State University, where he held the record for the highest score on the college entrance exam for several decades. While attending East High School in 1958, Brett was chosen to play the lead role in The King and I, “the greatest production ever staged by the East High Drama Department with over 7200 in attendance.”

After moving his family to the Houston area in the 1960s, Brett enjoyed and excelled in sales for various companies; the most recent being Republic Boot Company, where he was able to share his passion for boots, gear and western wear. He treasured spending time with his family, taking care of his horses, hunting, playing golf, watching car races, reading, collecting Native American objects and discussing all these activities at great length.

Brett was a man of faith who sincerely loved Jesus and shared that love with many. He lived his faith by being kind, supportive and generous to family, friends and strangers alike; there to offer a helpful hand, a word of encouragement or the comfort of his presence.

A cherished husband, father, grandfather greatgrandfather, brother, uncle and loyal friend, he was preceded in death by his loving parents and his beloved daughter, Jami Suzanne. Brett is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 59 years, Lois (Farthing) Hesser; his sisters Becky (Dick) Price and Jami (Harvey) Trammell; Daughter Lisa (Hesser) Galloway; grandchildren Megan (Brian) Stanley, Jordan (Dwayne) Welsh, Jeremie Barham and Gentry Barham; great-grandchildren Addison and Layton Welsh; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Rest in peace, Brett.

“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.’” John 11:25
