Catherine Evon Urquhart was born in Houston on the 6th of April 1976, and passed away on Friday, the 11th of March 2022. She was 45 years of age.

Catherine is a graduate of Lamar High School where she enjoyed being a cheerleade­r, a member of the track team, Young Life and Theatre. She then went on to graduate from Tulane University where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority, a cheerleade­r and continued to run track. She received a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University. Catherine loved her family, friends and favorite pet Oreo.

She was preceded in death by her grandparen­ts, Alice and Charles R. Swain, and Hazel and Garland D. Urquhart; and by her niece Alice Clementine Urquhart.

She is survived by her husband, Eddy S. Mazariegos; her son, Edward M. Urquhart; her parents, Cynthia Swain Urquhart and Edward D. Urquhart; her brother, Charles E. Urquhart and his wife Victoria Rosch Urquhart; and her nephews, Charles O. and J. MacLean Urquhart. She is also survived by her aunt, Georgia Swain McKissack and her husband G. Scott McKissack; her cousins, Allison Canales and Scott McKissack, Jr.; her uncle, G. Wesley Urquhart and his wife Elizabeth; and her cousins, Christina Wilkerson, Mary Elizabeth Urquhart, John Urquhart, Caroline Urquhart, and Virginia Urquhart.

Services are private for the family.

In lieu of customary remembranc­es, the family suggest that memorial contributi­ons in Catherine’s memory be directed to The Church of St. John the Divine - Loving Lamar Program supporting students in need, 2450 River Oaks Blvd., Houston, TX, 77019; or to the charity of one’s choice.
