JAMES LACY HAMILTON
July 8, 1934 - May 27, 2022
James Lacy Hamilton, left his body at age 87 in Austin, Texas on May 27th, 2022 in the loving care of his family.
Lacy was born July 8th, 1934, in Gadsden, Alabama to Dorothy Lolita Hamilton (nee Smith) and James Russell Hamilton. Lacy graduated from Louisiana State University in 1960 thanks to the GI Bill and spent over five decades as a petroleum engineer, including serving as Founder and President of Hamilton Engineering, Inc.
His success was matched by his generosity. He found joy in sharing his abundance. He was committed to supporting several charities, but also helped individuals in need, often giving anonymously and spontaneously.
Lacy loved art, poetry, music, and travel. But, most importantly, he loved to share these passions with his friends and family. He loved to be the host, making sure everyone around him was happy and celebrating life with him.
He is survived by his daughter Anna Claire Hamilton (husband Ricardo Torres), Grandchild Wynkoop
Russell Hamilton Kiersted, ex-wife Sheila J. Hamilton
(to whom he was married 31 years), step-family Dana Malone (husband Todd, sons Tanner and Connor), Tammy Slater (son Joshua, wife Megan, and two daughters), and brothers Jerry Jarmin Hamilton (Cheryl and family) and Judson Carey Hamilton (Sandra and family) and multiple beloved nieces and nephews.
Lacy was predeceased by his parents and his ex-wife Anna Faye Hamilton.
