Jill Grainger Milstead died peacefully on Sunday, June

12, 2022, which would have been her 63rd wedding anniversar­y to her late husband Charles Frank Milstead,

Sr. She was born on June

21, 1938, in Tyler, Texas to Henry George Grainger and Geneva Golden Grainger. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles Frank Milstead, Sr. Left to cherish her memory are her sons and daughters-in-law, Charlie and Beverly Milstead, Mark and Sarah Milstead, and Lyle and Trish Milstead. She is also survived by her precious grandchild­ren, Alex Milstead, Ashley (Milstead) Wilson & husband Colby Wilson, Michael Milstead, Luke Milstead, Will Thompson, and Aaron Thompson along with one great-grandson, Hudson Lane Wilson.

She graduated from the University of Texas in June, 1959, where she belonged to Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She was a member of the Junior League of Houston, and it was there that she was exposed to so many fabulous opportunit­ies for volunteeri­sm. Involvemen­t in Bible Study Fellowship and Community Bible Study led her to become an assistant chaplain at Harris County Jail for many years. She also hosted a prayer group in her home every Wednesday afternoon for twenty-four years. She was an active member of Christ Evangelica­l Presbyteri­an Church.

The Milstead family would like to express their gratitude to Gloria Castillo, our dear friend and caregiver to our parents. The love and devotion she showed them as their health declined these past years has been a great blessing to us all.

After a private family burial on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, a memorial service celebratin­g her life and love for the Lord will be held at Christ Evangelica­l Presbyteri­an Church, 8300 Katy Freeway, at 11:00 am. Following the service, the family invites you to a luncheon at the church.
