-

Kathy Ann Yeoman was born to the late AJ and William Yeoman in Lansing, Michigan on November

4th, 1955. AJ, her beloved mother, was an artist and Bill Yeoman, her beloved father, was a Hall of Fame college football coach. In 1962, the family moved to Houston, TX where she established life-long friendships in the Briargrove neighborhood. Kathy enjoyed her summers at Camp Longhorn. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School Class of 1974 and went on to graduate with a degree in Education from the University of Texas in 1978. She was an active member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Growing up, she loved attending her father’s football games with her family and friends.

After graduating college, Kathy found community through her volunteer work. She immersed herself in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where she earned a lifetime member status by serving on the BBQ Committee for over 20 years. She was also a dedicated member of the Houston Golf Association for over a decade, where she was employed and later went on to serve as a volunteer. She was creative, social and hardworking, skills she used at Trademarks for 19 years. Her love for volunteering, BBQ , golf and networking were the perfect combination.

Every Sunday following church service at St. Luke’s Methodist Church, you would find Kathy and her family at Luby’s enjoying fellowship. Kathy was deeply devoted to her Christian faith. Kathy was passionate about her son and loved attending Memorial High School sporting events. She was so proud to represent his lucky number 73 on Friday nights in the Fall. Kathy and her friends were loyal to one another for 60 years and they considered themselves sisters. Every month without fail, these cherished women gathered to enjoy life together. There was never a dull moment and they solved all of the world’s problems over a glass of wine.

In 2018, Kathy was diagnosed with an incurable disease, ALS. After a tenacious 4-year battle, she peacefully passed away surrounded by family and friends on June 15, 2022. She had an abundance of support especially from her team of caregivers. Kathy lived life the exact way she passed; with courage, with grit, with honor. She taught us how to face adversity with perseverance and joy. We love and miss her deeply.

Kathy was a loyal friend and a selfless servant. Above all, she loved being a mom and devoted her life to her son and best friend, Clayton. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, dedication to those close to her, and her love of life. Her legacy lives on through Clayton and her soon to be born granddaughter,

Lily Loraine.

Kathy is survived by her son, Clayton; his wife, Kristen; her granddaughter, Lily, who will arrive in July; her sister and brother-in-law, Carrie and Bill Prewett; and her two brothers, Billy and Gary Yeoman. She is preceded in death by her parents AJ and Bill Yeoman.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 23rd, at St. Luke’s Methodist Church at 2pm. If you are unable to attend, please access this livestream link: https:// www.stlukesmethodist.org/ kathy-yeoman/
