Yankees top Jays, extend streak to 9
TORONTO — Jameson Taillon and two relievers combined on a five-hitter, Aaron Hicks lined a threerun double and the New York Yankees extended their winning streak to nine by beating the Toronto Blue Jays 4-0 Saturday.
Phillies 2, Nationals 1 (10): Pinch-hitter Rhys Hoskins singled home the go-ahead run in the 10th inning and Philadelphia won at Washington for the Phillies’ 15th win in 17 games.
Cubs 6, Braves 3: Willson Contreras had three hits and stole a base in his first game against younger brother William, helping Chicago win at home.
Tigers 14, Rangers 7: Eric Haase had three hits, including one of three Detroit homers, and the host Tigers snapped a six-game losing streak.
Cardinals 11, Red Sox 2: Nolan Arenado hit a tworun homer over the Green Monster in the first inning and St. Louis broke it open with a six-run sixth.
Mets 3, Marlins 2: Taijuan Walker retired 18 in a row and pitched into the seventh inning, Francisco Lindor homered for the second straight game and
New York won at home.
Royals 2, Athletics 0: Brad Keller allowed one hit in seven crisp innings to lift visiting Kansas City.
Dodgers 7, Guardians 1: Freddie Freeman had three hits and four Los Angeles pitchers limited Cleveland to two hits. Dodgers star Mookie Betts was put on the injured list with a cracked right rib.
Rays 7, Orioles 6: Harold Ramirez hit a tie-breaking sacrifice fly in the ninth, and Tampa Bay won at Baltimore.
Angels sweep Mariners: Mike Trout hit a two-run homer in the top of the 10th and Los Angeles won at Seattle in the opening game of a doubleheader 4-2. Trout homered in the nightcap as the Angels won 3-0.
Brewers 7, Reds 3: Willy Adames and Hunter Renfroe both homered for the second straight day and Milwaukee won at Cincinnati.
Giants 7, Pirates 5: Brandon Crawford drove in two runs as San Francisco rallied for a win at Pittsburgh.
Rockies 5, Padres 4: Ryan McMahon had three hits including a tie-breaking solo homer as Colorado won at home.
Twins 11, Diamondbacks 1: Dylan Bundy allowed one run in eight innings and Gary Sanchez and Ryan Jeffers hit two-run home runs as Minnesota won at Arizona.
