Leslie Buratti, a Martha Turner Sotheby’s Internatio­nal Realty Realtor with eight years of real estate industry experience, recently shared these insights:

Why did you decide on a career in real estate and what do you enjoy about it? I have a strong sales background in the building and design industries, so real estate seemed like a natural fit and gave me the flexibilit­y to grow my portfolio of business as my life and family allowed. I love what I do, and assisting my clients find their dream home or market and sell their home for the highest value drives me every day. I have been able to work with first-time home buyers to empty nesters investing in second homes, and everything in between. I find real estate exhilarati­ng.

What are your focus areas? I have a diverse portfolio that spans across the greater Houston area and Galveston Island. My focus is in Bay Area Houston and in particular Friendswoo­d, where I live.

I have lived in inner loop Houston for 10 years and Friendswoo­d for 13 years. I love our small-town, family-centric community and of course our award-winning school district. And I truly love Houston, so I enjoy assisting clients all over the Houston area.

What are your previous work and training? I was a sales executive in the luxury home goods industry for 13 years, which gave me a solid foundation in topnotch customer service and honed my art of negotiatio­n. You can almost always find a workable solution to any obstacle, and that challenge drives me. Is it a good time to buy? The current market is very exciting and yes, it is a great time to buy or sell your home. I can advise several options to clients in navigating this challengin­g market.

How would you describe your work ethic and skills for success? I’m a strong communicat­or, a good listener, flexible with client’s expectatio­ns and always putting my client’s needs first. I pride myself on my profession­alism, work ethic, commitment, and responsive­ness. Also having moved multiple times throughout my life, I can advise clients not only on real estate but also on the challenges of relocating and settling into a new place.

How does your company support your sales process? I love being a part of MTSIR because of the internatio­nal reach and the support we receive from our leaders. Being able to reach out to execs at a moment’s notice and receive encouragem­ent and advice is unparallel­ed.

What industry awards or honors? I have a Master of Business Administra­tion (MBA) from the University of St. Thomas and am on the alumni board there. I have also received the MTSIR Circle of Excellence award.
