Taylor Morrison builds Dahlia home for GHBA project

-

Taylor Morrison Houston has begun construction on its popular Dahlia Plan for the first of two Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) Benefit Homes in 2022.

This is a 42-year-old GHBA charity fundraiser that will benefit local charities — HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home.

The homes are built with donated materials, labor and services by GHBA member companies. They will include upgrade amenities not often found in homes with similar pricing, and will be sold at market value. Since the Project began, more than $12 million has been raised.

Taylor Morrison is building this home on a lot they also donated in their community of Grand Vista in Richmond. The home is a 1,532 sq. ft. one-story with three bedrooms, two baths and a two-car garage.

An extended formal foyer flows into an openconcept gathering room and kitchen. There is also a formal dining room. The owner’s suite is located at the back of the home offering a beautiful retreat with its wall of windows that capture the light.

There are two closets that provide plenty of storage for separate wardrobes, a double-door entry to the owner’s bath, a vanity with dual sinks and a separate walk-in shower.

“The GHBA and the two charities this home will benefit are extremely grateful to Todd Rasmussen, Taylor Morrison division president and Bill Dalton, Taylor Morrison’s vice president of Land for committing their construction and admin teams to become a Benefit home builder,” said Scott Merovitch, Chesmar Homes city president and the chairman of the Benefit Homes Project. “This is their second Benefit home since 2018, and it couldn’t have come at a better time than 2022. We thank the Taylor Morrison team and their vendors who will make this a successful project.”

A second Benefit home is also being built for

2022 by HistoryMaker Homes in the Land Tejas community of Sunterra in Katy.

“Our vendors and trades are both loyal to our company and dedicated to giving back to the community,” said Rasmussen. “We are proud to work with such generous and hard-working people, and look forward to completing this home later this year.”

Grand Vista is located in the city of Richmond, approximately 30 miles from downtown.

Grand Vista covers 600-plus acres with abundant amenities, including two community clubhouses and pools, playgrounds, an on-site elementary school and lakeside walking trails.

Grand Vista offers oneand two-story floor plans priced from the $400,000s to $600,000s-plus.

Throughout the 42-year history of the GHBA Benefit Homes Project, more than 110 homes have been built with the help of donations.
