ROBERT CULPEPPER, JR

Bob to most who knew him was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Robert J. Culpepper Sr. and a granddaugh­ter, Georgia Wallace.

He is survived by his devoted partner in life, Lois Culpepper; two daughters, Rhonda Fry and Alison Elliott; a son, Robert Joseph Culpepper III; and a sister, Carol Culpepper Sears. He leaves behind grandchild­ren, David and Michelle Wilkins, Afton and Matthew Prescott, Aaric and Emma Wallace, Addison Wallace, Todd Wallace, Tristan Elliott and Cameron Elliott; three great grandsons, Jackson Wilkins, William Wallace and Jameson Powell.

After family and friends, Bob’s career was front and center. A graduate of the University of Georgia he soon found his true passion in Advertisin­g. He worked for Cargill Wilson & Acree in Atlanta along with the agency that brought him to Houston, McDonald & Little. He started his own agency, Culpepper and Associates in 1978. His client roster included McDonalds, Whataburge­r, KTRH/KLOL, the University of Georgia and the Houston Oilers among others. His

Luv Ya Blue campaign for the Oilers was fun for the whole city and won multiple awards.

He was very active in the American Advertisin­g Federation-Houston and served as President in 1990,a spirit of Houston recipient in 1995, a Silver Medal Recipient in 2008, an Honorary Life Membership, and a Living Legend.

He found time to share his knowledge with the future advertisin­g leaders as a professor of Advertisin­g at the University of Houston, winning the AAF’s Southwest Educator of the Year Award in 2006.

His love of food and wine led him to culinary school at the Art Institute where he joined the Slow Food Movement and was involved in Recipe for Success.

Bob was a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo and proudly served on the Special Children’s Committee.

A Celebratio­n of Bob’s life will be held at Fratelli’s Ristorante, 1330 Wirt Road, Houston TX on June 29 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons to a scholarshi­p in Bob’s honor may be directed thru AAF-Houston (houstonads­cholarship.com).
