ELDON PAUL “BIZ” NUSS

April 24, 1933 - July 1, 2022

-

Eldon Paul Nuss, was called up to heaven on Friday, the

1st of July 2022, the son of John Paul Nuss and the Helen Nolte Nuss. He was born in Waterloo, Iowa on the 24th of April 1933.

Eldon graduated from the University of Iowa studying accounting and then served in the US Navy. Once he finished his service, he moved to Kansas City, Kansas, to work as an accountant with Arthur Young and Company. It was there in Kansas City he met the love of his life, Carolyn Krug Nuss. After they married and had two daughters, the family moved to Houston, where the weather would be ideal for his golf game and he could play year round.

He was a 50+ year member at Lakeside Country Club where he served as President and was a two-time Golf Club Champion. When he left Arthur Young and Company he worked at Marathon Manufacturing for many years before he ventured out on his own business enterprises. After retiring he became President of the US Men’s Senior Golf Association. He was a long-time member of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, where he was very involved in the Stephen Ministry Program and continued his devotion to God.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn. He leaves behind his daughter Susan Nuss DeLeon and her husband Frank DeLeon of Missouri City, Texas, and his daughter Laurie Nuss Hogan and her husband Chris Hogan of Blanco, Texas. He cherished his four grandchildren and lovingly leaves behind, granddaughter Madelyn DeLeon Rupprecht and her husband John Rupprecht, Andrew DeLeon, Matthew DeLeon and his fiancé Jordan Miller and Joshua Hogan; along with a host of friends.

A celebration of life is to be conducted at half past eleven o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 8th of July, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.

Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent grand foyer.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of one’s choice.
