PHYLLIS FINGER

Phyllis Ann Sitver Finger, 74, passed away on July 11, 2022 in Houston, Texas. She was born in New York City to the late Sidney and Irene Kadish Sitver. In keeping with family tradition, Phyllis highly valued education. A graduate of Binghamton University, she earned Master’s and law degrees and pursued a doctorate in Business Administra­tion at the University of Houston. She had successful careers in law, mediation and management consulting.

Phyllis was passionate about Jewish causes. She was president of the Sisterhood of Beth Israel Congregati­on of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and heavily involved in the Women’s League for Conservati­ve Judaism. She served as executive director for the Washtenaw County, Michigan, United Jewish Appeal.

She also loved mahjong, bridge and travel and enjoyed many crafts, including sewing, knitting and quilting. She was an enthusiast­ic watcher of news programmin­g and British television dramas. Phyllis will be remembered for her love for her family, her personal strength, her sense of humor and her determinat­ion to achieve her goals.

Phyllis is survived by David Finger, her husband of 53 years; her daughter Jennifer Finger; her son and daughterin-law Michael and Gabi Finger; her son Glenn Kenduck; her sister and brother-in-law Shelly and Martin Glasser; and her grandchild­ren Sydney and Sean Finger, Hattie Baier, and Shayna and Zaiden Kenduck. She was predecease­d by her sister and brother-in-law Marcia and Douglas Petersen.

A private burial was held at Emanu El Memorial Park.
