GHBA Benefit Homes Project: Taylor Morrison builds Dahlia plan

-

The foundation has been poured and the framing is underway for one of two Greater Houston Builders Association’s (GHBA) Benefit Homes Project homes being constructed this year.

Taylor Morrison Houston is building its one-story Dahlia plan for this 42-year-old charity fundraiser on a lot it also donated in Grand Vista. The second home is being built by HistoryMaker Homes in Sunterra.

The Benefit home is being built with donated materials, labor and services by GHBA member companies and will include upgrade amenities not often found in homes with similar pricing and sold at market value. The majority of the proceeds will go to two local charities, HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home.

Taylor Morrison’s Dahlia plan is a 1,532 sq. ft. one-story home with three bedrooms, two baths and a two-car garage. An extended formal foyer flows into an open-concept gathering room and kitchen. There is also a formal dining room. The private owner’s suite is at the back of the home, with its wall of windows. There are two closets that provide plenty of storage for separate wardrobes, a double-door entry to the owner’s bath, a vanity with dual sinks and a separate walk-in shower.

“The GHBA is extremely grateful to Todd Rasmussen, Taylor Morrison division president and Bill Dalton, Taylor Morrison’s vice president of Land for committing their construction and admin teams to become a Benefit home builder,” said Scott Merovitch, Chesmar Homes city president and the chairman of the project. “This is their second Benefit home since 2018, and it couldn’t come at a better time than 2022. We thank the Taylor Morrison team and their vendors who will make this a successful project.”

Since the project began more than $12 million has been raised. Vendors and trades are asked to donate everything from the initial site work, through the closing costs.

Grand Vista is located in the city of Richmond. For more information visit www.ghba.org or call 281-970-8970.
