Shirley Dentler, 83, Spring, Texas, passed away on July
21, 2022. She was born to parents Grover Lowrie Senior and Eva Trawick Lowrie, on April 7, 1939, in Pennington, Texas.
She graduated from Sour Lake High School in 1957.
She was on student council, voted most beautiful, best all around, and played varsity basketball.
Shirley spent her professional career working for the District Attorney’s office and FBI.
She enjoyed sports and was an avid tennis and basketball player. Shirley was an accomplished artist and shared her passion of the arts through her beautiful glass paintings with hundreds of people.
She loved home décor and redecorated the family home countless times. She loved gardening and landscaping and designed a beautiful oasis in her back yard full of a variety of plants, flowers, and water features that symbolizes her beauty. She loved spending time in her sunroom painting, listing to music, visiting with friends and family, and watching sports.
Shirley met Art Dentler (Sonny) in 1954. They were married on 04/05/1958 in
Sour Lake, Texas. Together they raised four children: Ronnie, Dale and wife Angela, Mona Blake and husband Mike Blake, and Byron and fiancé Heather Theriot.
Grandchildren: Harrison, Hannah, Haylie, Dalton, Hope, and Dane.
Three great grandchildren: Brooks, Kollins, and London.
Shirley is survived by her brother Grover Lowrie Junior and his wife Sue; brother Douglas and his wife Karen; sister Mary Lowrie Young; and Evelyn Lowrie Chance and her husband Roy.
She was preceded in death by brothers: Curtis, Calvin, Glen, Odell, and Melvin Lowrie.
The family has entrusted The Luminaire to hold a Celebration of Life on Friday, August 19, 2022, 10:00am.
