Louise LeGros Wilhoit, 93, died peacefully July 31, 2022 at Taylor Manor Nursing Home in Versailles, Kentucky. Louise was born November 26, 1928, to Paul and Bertha LeGros in Houston, Texas. She was a graduate of Lamar High School in Houston, and attended Mary Washington College and Southern Methodist University before graduating from the University of Houston in 1949. While in college, Louise joined the Pi Beta Phi sorority. In 1949 she married James Cammack Wilhoit, Jr. Louise was a life-long homemaker. When Jim was on the faculty at Rice University, Louise was active with the Rice University Faculty Women’s Club and served a term as president. In 1981 Louise and Jim moved to Woodford County where they owned Old Home Place Farm. In Versailles, Louise was a member of the Versailles Presbyteri­an Church where she served as elder and president of the Presbyteri­an Women’s group. She was also a member and served as president of the Little Garden

Club of Woodford County.

Louise is survived by four children, James Paul Wilhoit (Maya) Renton, WA, Ann Wilhoit Sparker (William H. Sparker, deceased) of Houston, Texas, Joan LeGros Wilhoit of Versailles, and John H. Wilhoit (Sue Churchill) of Versailles; five grandchild­ren, Will Sparker (Ellen), Sarah Sparker Patel (Niraj), Ella Wilhoit (Kenny McCormick), Thomas Wilhoit (Jordan), and Sophie Wilhoit; and six great-grandchild­ren, Holdt and William Sparker, Nina and Lila Patel, Lena Wilhoit and Arthur McCormick. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Cammack Wilhoit, Jr. and her brother Paul Greig LeGros.

A memorial service for Louise will be held August 14 at 4:00 pm at the Versailles Presbyteri­an Church with visitation from 2:30 to 4:00 that same day. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributi­ons in Louise’s name be made to Taylor Manor Nursing Home, 300 Berry Avenue, Versailles, KY 40383.
