MINNETTE ROBINSON

October 9, 1931 - August 8, 2022

-

Minnette Russ Robinson passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on August 8, 2022. Minnette was born to Morris and Sylvia Russ in Dallas, Texas where she and her sister Claire

Russ Richker attended and graduated from Highland Park High School. Minnette then went off to college at the University of Texas at the age of 15, where one day in the library she met her soulmate Jerome, whom she was married to for almost 60 years. Jerome and Minnette started their family and a business in Houston, and during all those years of marriage they travelled the world together, rarely spending even a single night apart.

Minnette’s pride and joy was her family. Her three kids, Howard, Mindy and Russ, their spouses Beverly, Steve and Leslie, her 6 grandkids and their spouses Daniel and wife Katherine, Adam and wife Johanna, Michael, Nash and wife Kathleen, Alex and Alex, and most recently her 8 great grandkids Lennon, Oliver, Maxwell, Lincoln, Elleson, Margot, Lucy and Isadora. She also loved her sister Claire Richker and sister’s in law Mallory Robinson, Anita Stewart (George) and Shirley Arsham (Sheldon) and the rest of her extended family.

If the measure of a person’s life can be determined by how they were loved and loved back, how many odd glasses and plates were left in their china cabinet and if they lived life enjoying a glass of champagne for every occasion small or big, then there can be no doubt that Minnette lived a rich, happy and fulfilled life. She was the glue that held her family together.

Minnette had an immeasurable appreciation for all of her friends and family.

She led an active life playing tennis, mahjong and golf.

You could find her twice weekly in poker games with her friends. She co-founded the JCC Children’s Scholarship Ball and was an active committee member at the MFAH and a generous contributor to the new Kinder Building. Minnette was also a lifetime supporter of the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston and most proud of the Jerome Robinson Family Young Adult Division.

Minnette was lucky to have amazing care the last few months and the family is so thankful to all who helped her. Donations in her memory can be made to the Jerome Robinson Young Adult Division of the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston or the Museum of Fine Arts Houston.
