RESIDENTS CONTINUE TRADITION OF HELPING STUDENTS

-

As in previous years, the residents and staff of The Abbey at Westminster Plaza are once again donating school supplies for the 2022-2023 school year. An abundance of folders, notepads/paper, scissors, pencils, glue, Kleenex, Clorox wipes and much more has been collected. Cash donations from Abbey residents are also being accepted and will be used to purchase additional school supplies. Teachers typically are responsible for purchasing these supplies out of their own pockets to supply for their classrooms. The school supplies were collected during July and presented to two deserving schools — Outley Elementary in Alief Independent School District and Lantrip Elementary in Houston Independent School District. The fourth grade supplies were picked up by teachers of the year, Marcia James and Hailey Kucherka. The drive was once again organized by Abbey resident and retired Wilchester Elementary School principal, Martha Bair, who has dedicated her life to education and has been so generous with her time and talents when it comes to education.
