Homes has begun construction on its second Benefit Homes Project home for the Greater Houston Builders Association’s 42nd annual charity fundraiser. The majority of the proceeds from the home’s sale will go to two local charities — Operation Finally Home and HomeAid Houston.

Each year two homes are built for the project with donated land, materials and services by GHBA members. The homes offer a variety of popular features and amenities today. Since the fundraiser began, more than $12 million has been raised.

HistoryMaker is building its Hemlock plan, a 2,777-squarefoot, two-story design with three bedrooms and 2½ baths. It offers a media room and game room on the second floor, and a downstairs master suite with spacious walk-in closet, a dual vanity and a separate tub and shower. The floor plan is an open concept. The home also includes a covered patio and garage.

“We are excited we’ve begun construction

on our Hemlock plan in Sunterra,” said HistoryMaker Houston division president Mickey Pizzitola. “We value the work that Operation Finally Home and HomeAid Houston do, and it is also an honor to work with the Land Tejas team and our generous vendors, trades and suppliers as we start the construction process.”

Sunterra is a 1,039acre master-planned community located in the Katy Independent School District and convenient to Katy-area dining and shopping. There is also convenient access to Grand Parkway and I-10 west. Amenities will include a 3.5-acre Crystal Lagoon for kayaking, swimming, stand-up paddleboarding, or just relaxing on the white sandy beach. There will also be an expansive amenity village that will feature a clubhouse and pool that overlook the lagoon.

Family owned and operated since 1949, HistoryMaker Homes launched in Dallas-Fort Worth and expanded over the decades to become a premier builder of more than 800 homes across the region in 16 developments.
