Reescano powers New Caney win

-

A new era of Montgomery football was dashed by a New Caney team also in for big changes in the 2022 season.

The Eagles came out firing behind senior star running back Kedrick Reescano and never glanced behind them the rest of the night.

New Caney, which is two weeks away from its first Class 6A game, toppled Montgomery 49-14 on Friday night at Montgomery ISD Stadium.

Reescano, a Michigan State commit, ran for 252 yards and five touchdowns in his senior season debut. As a team, New Caney ran for 335 yards and had 457 yards of total offense.

“I thought (Reescano) and our entire offense really dominated the football game,” New Caney coach Travis Reeve said. “Obviously, Kedrick is special and had a great night,” New Caney coach Travis Reeve said. “But I thought our offensive line was very physical tonight, and we had some great drives where we imposed our will a little bit. I'm just really proud of those guys.”
