Cy Creek prevails in final seconds

- Alvaro Montaño

Jamon Richardson hauled in the game-winning touchdown catch with three seconds left as Cypress Creek edged Tomball Memorial 56-54 in a nondistrict matchup Friday at Tomball ISD Stadium.

Quarterback Brad Jackson accounted for seven touchdowns, including five through the air, to lead Cy Creek (1-1) to its first win.

“I think we made some (progress), and, clearly, we’ve got some mistakes to fix,” McCaig said. “But I did enjoy watching the kids’ resolve. They stayed with it, even though at times it looked like things were going to get away from us.”
