Today: The queen’s coffin will be taken from Balmoral Castle in Scotland to Edinburgh. In London, the king hosts a reception for diplomats from the 14 other Commonweal­th countries where he is king. Monday: The queen’s coffin travels to Edinburgh’s St. Giles’ Cathedral, where it will stay for 24 hours. King Charles II and Camilla, the Queen Consort, will visit Parliament, then fly to Edinburgh for a service of remembranc­e and visit Scottish Parliament.

Tuesday: The queen’s coffin is flown to London and taken to Buckingham Palace. The king and Camilla visit Northern Ireland.

Wednesday: The coffin is transporte­d to Parliament for a short service. The queen then will lie in state for four days. Friday: The king and queen consort will visit Wales. Monday, Sept. 19: The state funeral begins at 11 a.m. The day will be a public holiday across the U.K.
