Eugene Leonard Beger, 91, of Houston, TX passed away peacefully on September 12, 2022. Eugene was born on October 13, 1930, to Henry Beger and Agnes Holub Beger in St. Joseph, Missouri. He graduated from Central High School in St. Joseph, and entered the United States Air Force after graduation. He proudly served his country during the Korean War and was honorably discharged after 6 years of service. While stationed at Bryan, Texas Air Force Base he met his future wife, Lucille Restivo. They were married on January 9, 1955 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bryan. Eugene attended Texas A&M University (whoop) where he graduated with his BBA degree in Accounting in 1958. They then moved to Houston where Eugene began working for the Internal Revenue Service. He worked for the IRS until his retirement in 1986. Eugene and Lucille raised 3 children, Sharon, Buddy, and Susan. He was very involved in their lives, as well as the lives of his seven grandchild­ren. He leaves a legacy of love and commitment for them to follow. Eugene was also very involved with the Little League, was a member of the VFW, and a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Agnes, sister Lorene Tindall, and loving wife of almost 63 years Lucille. He is survived by his daughter Sharon Beal and husband Rock, son Eugene Leonard Beger, Jr. (Buddy) and wife Robin, daughter Susan Richie and husband Lundgren. He also leaves behind seven cherished grandchild­ren, Anna Beal Tutum and husband Cem, Amy Beal Skinner and husband Matt, Justin Beger, Rachel Beger Hauser and husband Jon, Kristin Richie, Kirk Richie, and Cole Richie, and one great-grandson Graham Skinner.

A visitation for Eugene will be held Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079. There will be a private family burial to follow at the National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
